Legal requests from authorities
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Zinsta cooperates with courts, police and regulators in Pakistan and elsewhere where the law requires, while protecting our users' privacy and safety. This page explains how to reach us and what we do.
How to send a request
- Email zinsta.org@gmail.com with the subject "Legal request" from an official email address, with the order, notice or letter attached (court order, FIA / NCCIA, PTA or police notice), the legal basis, the case or reference number, the name and rank of the officer, how we can verify the request and what exactly you need (account handle, post or message IDs, dates).
- Requests that are vague, too broad or not backed by valid legal process may be refused or narrowed. We may ask for more details.
What we can provide and remove
- Removal or blocking of content or accounts under a valid order or notice from a competent authority, including under Pakistan's Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and the rules made under it.
- Preservation of account information and content while a request is being made.
- Disclosure of user information to the extent required by valid legal process. Message contents are handled with extra care and shared only where the law clearly requires it.
Emergencies
If someone is at immediate risk of death or serious harm, or a child is in danger, mark the email "EMERGENCY". We review emergency requests as a priority and may disclose limited information needed to prevent the harm. Child sexual abuse material is reported by us to the authorities (including FIA NCCIA and NCMEC) without waiting for a request.
Telling users
Where it is lawful and safe, we tell the affected user about a request unless the authority has a valid reason, such as an order, an ongoing investigation or a risk to someone, to ask us not to.
Records
We keep a record of each request and what we did. We keep account and log data for the period needed to meet our legal duties and as stated in the Privacy Policy.
Copyright, impersonation and other complaints
Complaints from individuals and rights holders go through zinsta.org/legal-notice and our Copyright and Takedown Policy.
